Website Design & UX Strategy
Rotolo’s operates two distinct restaurant concepts under one umbrella: Rotolo’s Pizzeria (casual, family-friendly) and Rotolo’s Craft & Crust (upscale, craft-focused). They needed a single website that served both brands without confusing visitors or diluting either identity. The user had to self-select their experience before engaging deeper, which meant the very first interaction had to be intuitive and frictionless.
We mapped the user journey from first visit to order. The key insight: most visitors already know which Rotolo’s they want, but a significant percentage doesn’t. We designed an interactive entry point that lets users choose their experience before diving into menus and locations. This wasn’t just a design choice. It was a conversion strategy. By reducing confusion at the top of the funnel, we kept users moving toward ordering instead of bouncing.
The website was built around a split-screen landing experience that showcases both brands simultaneously, with clear visual differentiation in typography, color, and photography style. From there, each path delivers a tailored experience while sharing a unified backend for location data and online ordering. Mobile UX was a priority, with the entry-point experience designed specifically for thumb-friendly navigation.
