    The Strategic Problem

The Louisiana Home Builders Association had a perception problem baked into their logo. Members and leadership felt the existing mark looked like flood waters, which for a Louisiana organization representing the home building industry, sent exactly the wrong message. Beyond the logo, the association's overall visual presence felt dated and didn't reflect the professionalism and forward momentum of the industry it represented. They needed a rebrand that would modernize the organization's image while reinforcing its role as the authoritative voice for home builders statewide.

    Strategic Approach

Trade association rebrands carry a unique challenge: you're serving a membership base that ranges from small local contractors to large-scale developers, and the brand has to feel relevant and aspirational to all of them. I approached this as an exercise in visual credibility. The new identity needed to say "this is a serious, well-run organization that fights for your interests" while also feeling distinctly Louisiana.

I anchored the visual direction in a red, white, and blue palette that ties the association to its advocacy role and state pride without feeling generic or overly political. The mark itself was designed to be clean, structured, and immediately legible at every size, from a website header to event signage to a lapel pin. I eliminated the visual ambiguity of the old logo and replaced it with something that communicates stability, professionalism, and Louisiana identity in equal measure.

    The Solution

I extended the new brand identity across a full website redesign built on Webflow. I restructured the site architecture around two primary audiences: industry professionals (builders, contractors, trade partners) and homebuyers. A clear entry-point experience directs each audience to the content and resources most relevant to them, reducing friction and making the membership value proposition immediately visible.

The site features member testimonials, a news hub, event promotion, and quick-access tools for finding local associations and industry professionals. Every page reinforces the brand's positioning as the connective tissue of Louisiana's home building industry: organized, resourceful, and actively working on behalf of its members.
